Wattie’s Can Film Festival

This year is the 19th that Watties has run this Film Festival – may it go on for many more!

People of New Zealand! Next Saturday is the Day!

The day to watch a movie – in cinemas – practically for free!!!

Actually, it’s really to raise much needed non-perishable food (cans) for the Salvation Army, a charity that helps 10,000s of Kiwis every year.

What happens is: on Saturday the 7th November, you can go along to your local cinema with a can of food per person, and watch a movie in exchange for those cans! Open to all, and with films to suit different audiences, this is a great night out, and it’s also helping the community! Your cans get collected, and after they’ve all been counted, Wattie’s matches the number donated with their own Wattie’s cans!

Last year, NZ managed to get over 1 million cans donated  – help us make this year even more successful!

You can visit their website for more information, and to check the list of movie times and cinemas. There are cinemas all over New Zealand, donating their evening to help out – there should be one near you.

So, I hope you take this great opportunity and have a lovely evening, a week from tomorrow.

Maybe I’ll see you there 🙂

Let’s call me Lily
